This RESEDA (Weld) EXTRACT from OCCITANIA is a dye plant extract from reseda (Reseda luteola<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>L.) from local resource. The plants are grown in our area, under organic conditions, and dried without additional energy (simply thanks to the hot air of the South of France in summer). This new natural color for yellow shades, from the famous European dye plant also named Dyer’s weed<\/span><\/span>, reconnects with the historic cultivation of Weld in our region<\/span><\/span>.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Main constituents :luteolin, flavones (minor – apig\u00e9nine, chrysoeriol).
\nThis natural dye extract does contain nearly 51% more of natural color than our traditional extract. Deep yellows obtained at pH 8.0.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uses :<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong>Natural d<\/span><\/span><\/span>yeing and textile printing<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>: Weld extract is from the main\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>European\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>dye plant\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>resource\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>for yellow shades. It can be used with any kind of fiber, combined with any mordant and most other dye extracts to obtain a very wide range of lightfast colours. For deep yellows, this dye develops best in slightly hard water –\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>for example b<\/span><\/span>y adding\u00a0 sodium carbonate or calcium carbonate (chalk) for instance to set up your bath to pH 8.0.

The plant :<\/strong><\/span>
\nWeld or Dyer’s weed (Reseda luteola<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>L.) is\u00a0<\/span>one of the most oldest dye plants used for yellow colour.\u00a0It was classified as “grand teint” (color fast).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The whole plant is a good source of natural dye, except the root. It was used as a natural dyestuff since the Roman Antiquity or Prehistoric times. Its use widely spread from the Middle Age and weld was grown in England, in France, in Belgium and in the southeast of Germany.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
