Tannic acid allows the pre-treatment of cellulosic plant fibers (called engallage in this case) in order to improve the fixation of the mordant during mordanting. For bright colors, it will be used in the first bath followed by the mordant of aluminum salt.
The grape seed extract Occitania is manufactured locally by upcycling of by-products of the wine-making industry.

Products not intended for food or for dietary supplements.

The plant : Vine is a well-known, woody, climbing plant whose stems can reach six meters in length. The flowers, small and greenish to white, are grouped in inflorescences and their fruits are berries grouped in clusters (grapes). The seeds of these berries are pips.
Vine has been grown for thousands of years in Europe, western Asia (Middle East, Caucasus) and northern Africa. The species is cultivated for its fruits, which are eaten fresh as table grapes, dried as raisins, or fermented to produce wine.

Upcycling of by-products : a production in advance for circular economy
The wine industry has been involved and organized for several decades to offer to us a large number of natural ingredients and products: wines, juices, concentrates and natural sugars, brandies, alcohols, tartaric acid and cream of tartar, oils, polyphenols of different types and activities, biocontrol compounds, composts and amendments, bioethanol, bioenergy in particular.
The wine sector thus valorizes almost all of its by-products and it continues to evolve by combining new technologies and innovation to respond to diversified and demanding markets.

Located in the heart of the vineyard of South of France, GREEN'ING has always been keen to offer products from this exemplary sector. We come ourselves from a family of winegrowers and are proud to contribute to this regional bio-economy. Alongside this grape seed extract, find our other natural ingredients from this production : cream of tartar, tartaric acid, fructose syrup.

A natural Indigo prepared from fresh leaves of Polygonum tinctorium Aiton, also named Persicaria tinctoria (Aiton) Spach.
You can choose (or take both) between products manufactured in Provence by Laura & Amandine (company Le Champ des Couleurs) or in Bretagne by Aline Perdereau (Company Ker Livioù).
Two indigos from Polygonum, both close and different, providing subtle shades and carrying know-how and intense work for their production.

Main components : indigotin.

Use :
Its use in textile needs to turn it from an oxidized state (blue pigment, insoluble) to a reduced state (greenish yellow pigment, soluble) which will allow to fix on fibers before being again oxidized (by the oxygen of air – a magic step that develops the blue color). These reactions can be processed in natural vats by using our fructose syrup and hydrated lime for instance (or iron, henna or reducing fruits natural vats) or by using a chemical reducing agent (sodium hydrosulphite or thiourea).
It was introduced into several countries in Europe where it is well acclimated and grown.

Chlorophyllin :

Chlorophyll is the main photosynthetic pigment of plants. It is present in most of plants and in certain bacteria and algaes. It is able to capture light energy and convert it into biochemical energy, essential for life.

In Autumn, green leaves turn to yellow to dark red by loosing their chlorophyll under the effect of plant enzymes. When the chlorophyll is degraded, the other pigments of the plant (such carotenoids) are revealed and create the colors of Autumn.

Chemically, chlorophyllin (an essential molecule for plants) is very similar to hemoglobin (essential molecule of animals).
