– 100 g of thyme extract;
– 50 g of peach extract;
– 50 g of honey extract.
These 100% natural dyes are developed for textile applications. It allows you to obtain beautiful yellow, “peach” or “honey” shades from thyme extract. This natural coloring is manufactured from local by-products of the PPAM sector (Perfume, Aromatic and Medicinal Plants). This natural dye is prepared from thyme stems and leaves (Thymus vulgaris L.). It contains flavonoids and plant tannins extracted with water.

Main constituents: flavones (luteolin, apigenin) + tannins + other coloring molecule.

Uses :
Natural dye & textile printing : These extracts can be used to dye all types of fibers. However, they produce more intense colors on mordanted wool. They are compatible with all mordants. Their tannin content also provides good lightfastness.

Other uses : Medicinal plant: the leaves and stems of thyme are traditionally used for symptomatic treatments of digestive disorders, coughs and as a mouthwash. The essential oil is used in the formula of various pharmaceutical specialties and is widely used as an antiseptic in aromatherapy. It is also present in the perfumery and hygiene products sectors. Aromatic plant: the leaf and dry flowering tops of thyme are used in the food sector and in many culinary preparations. It is also an excellent honey plant.

Not suitable for food use.

The plant :
Thymes are sub-shrubs with woody, tortuous and very branchy stems, bearing small pale pink or white flowers. They are perennial plants of the Lamiaceae family. Thyme is very resistant. It needs sun and grows wild on the arid and rocky hills of the Mediterranean regions up to 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The plant is found in Western Europe. It is also established in Eastern and Southern Europe.
The essential oil is obtained from fresh flowering aerial parts. The essential oil content varies from 5 to 25 ml/kg and its composition varies depending on the chemotype.

Bbased in the South of France, GREEN’ING is committed to develop natural colors from local plants and valorize agro-industrial co-products. This thyme extract is a perfect example, resulting from GREEN’ING’s research and development in extraction from distillation by-products and aromatic herb sectors. A new example of proximity between the dye plant sectors and PPAM, a source of bio-economy.
It is one of the basic ingredients of the new range of extracts that we offer in warm and varied colors from Occitania.
